Urinary Continence Management Projects

  • Bladder Diaries - NICE guidelines recommend that every patient with lower urinary tract symptoms should complete a bladder diary to aid diagnosis and management. This project aims to develop a diary that is easy to use for patients and easy for clinicians to read. 
  • Catheter - to develop new catheter designs that address current limitations
  • Electrical Stimulation for Bladder Disorders -as part of a Marie Curie Traning Fellowship this project is development an electrical stimulation device for overactive bladder, a chronic urological condition that presents as urgency and frequency, with or without urinary incontinence
  • Female Urinal - to design a functional an acceptable device to enable women to pass urine independently and in a more dignified manner
  • SUSOROL - to develop novel materials and subsequently engineer the components into patient approved, fully-flushable continence management devices, including urinals and leg bags
  • Tissue Engineering for Pelvic Floor Repair - to develop an effective approach to the repair of the female pelvic floor that will last throughout a patient's lifetime
